Indicating that the party decision on the leadership issue in Andhra Pradesh will take time, senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said the high command will take decision at an appropriate time which will factor in popular sentiments for YS Jaganmohan Reddy to make him the Chief Minister of the state.
Mukherjee who arrived here from Kolkata this evening, said the high command was fully aware of the popular sentiments and the emotional upsurge in Andhra Pradesh following the death of Chief Minister YS Rajsekhara Reddy.
"Let the situation be brought under normalcy. The high command will take a decision at an appropriate time," Mukherjee told reporters before late YSR's aide KVP Ramachandra Rao met him in New Delhi.
"I cannot say who will be and at what time (the decision will be made). How can I say that now?" he said when asked how long the decision will take.
To a specific question, Mukherjee said the high command's decision will factor in issues such as popular sentiment for YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
"We are fully aware of the popular support in the state. We know that there is emotional upsurge. We know that many people committed suicide and many people want Jagan. All these issues will be factored in when the high command takes a decision," he said.
