Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday congratulated students, teachers, parents and the entire team of Education Department for achieving 90.99 per cent success rate by government schools in the CBSE Class X board exam.
The success rate in government-run schools has increased by 1.55 per cent this year from last year's 89.44 per cent.
With 90.99 success rate, Government-run schools in the city also topped the category of best performing government institutions across the country.
"The success has been possible with concerted efforts of the Directorate of Education and its innovative approach," she said.
Dikshit particularly congratulated girls who outperformed the boys this year also.
In Delhi Government schools, 91.75 per cent of the girls who had appeared were declared successful, while success rate of boys was 88.15 per cent.
