Those who keep cribbing about anything or everything about Delhi would be surprised by the revelation that Delhi is the most preferred place to live in.

A recent survey has revealed that the NCR is the best metro city in the country with better public transport facilities, employment opportunities, security, cleanliness, healthcare facilities as well as education.

Market Xcel, a market research firm, conducted the survey with 1,229 people--both male and female--in the age group of 16 to 49.

The study was conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. “Going against the general perception, the survey found that Delhi is perceived to be a city which has sound infrastructural facilities, security and cleanliness. The city scores high on 7 of the 11 studied parameters where the perception of the audience across all four metros—Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata—is in favor of Delhi,” Vishal Oberoi, CEO of the company, told HT.

According to the survey, Delhi is also believed to have the most advanced and convenient public transport facilities (45%), followed by Mumbai (25%). The satisfaction score for Delhi is also substantially high while Mumbai scores lowest on that parameter, he said.

“The quality of transport is considered phenomenally high in Delhi on account of metro rail, the presence of new state-of-the-art DTC buses and high connectivity with NCR regions, which was a big bottleneck previously,” said Oberoi.

Delhi also leads on the parameters of security (38%), education (43%), employment (36%) and cleanliness (37%).
