The case was registered at the Parliament Street police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim traffic sub-inspector, Ishtyak Ahmad.

A senior police officer said the incident took place around 1pm on Wednesday near Vijay Chowk when traffic movement was stopped since the Vice-President’s cavalcade had to pass from there.

Ahmed said he was on duty at Parliament Circle on Vijay Chowk when he spotted a man breaching the barricade on a Pulsar motorcycle while coming from the south fountain side.

“The biker was signalled to stop but he turned towards Raisina-Rajpath crossing. The security personnel and a PCR van chased and stopped him at Rajpath.

"When Ahmed challaned him, the biker got annoyed and ripped his uniform,” said a senior officer. The biker was overpowered by other cops.
