Delhi Police ACP accused of rape by daughter-in-law

An assistant commissioner of Delhi police has been accused of rape by his daughter-in-law, police sources said on Tuesday.
The ACP is reportedly posted in the northern range of the city police.

The FIR against the senior officer was filed at the Vasant Kunj police station in south Delhi on the basis of a written complaint lodged by his daughter-in-law on January 23, said a police source.

Despite repeated attempts Prem Nath, DCP (south) and other senior officers in the district could not be reached for confirmation or comment. However, sources confirmed that the ACP had not been arrested till Tuesday night.

A police officer said the complainant was married to the ACP’s son in January last year. She had been living with her husband and in-laws at their Vasant Kunj residence.

The woman further alleged that she slipped into depression after the sexual assault. After staying with her in-laws for some days, she left for Australia where her three brothers are settled. She returned to India a few days ago and filed a written complaint against her father-in-law.
