The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested four suspected members of a banned Manipuri militant outfit allegedly involved in bomb explosions and incidents of firing in the north-eastern state.

Langian alias Manocha, 23, Maiban Radheyshyam, 26, Sapam Samnanda Singh, 28, and Sagolshen Samanda, 28 were apprehended from a place here by Delhi Police's Special Cell in the wee hours following a tip-off.

All the four are alleged to be members of banned Manipuri militant outfit Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL).

They are also suspected to owe their allegiance to another insurgent group called PREPAK, (the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak), which is demanding a separate and independent homeland in Manipur.

They were produced before court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja who sent them to police custody till August 13.

The police sought five-day custodial interrogation of the four accused on the ground that they were to be quizzed to find out their purpose of stay in the capital and to unearth their plans if any.

The investigators claimed that the four men were wanted in several cases of killings, bomb explosions and firings in different parts of Manipur.

They alleged that the accused also used to extort money from prominent businessmen and officials of the state.

The court, however, allowed two days of custodial interrogation by the police.
