Delhi police top rung reshuffled

The Delhi Police on Monday effected a major reshuffle among its top and middle-rung officials, divesting Special Commissioner B S Brar of his responsibilities of Airport and Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

The 1977-batch IPS officer will now look after the Intelligence Wing of the city police.

Deepak Mishra of the 1984 batch has been promoted and posted as Special CP (Operations) from Joint CP, a senior police official said. Deputy Commissioner (South) HGS Dhaliwal, a 1997-batch officer, has been transfered out of Delhi and posted in Arunanchal Pradesh. Chhaya Sharma, a 1999-batch officer who is presently DCP (Outer), replaces Dhaliwal.

V Renganathan of 1997 batch has been promoted and posted as Additional Commissioner (West). Deputy Commissioner (North) S S Yadav of 1997 batch has been promoted and posted as Additional CP (Traffic). I B Rani, a 2000-batch IPS officer is the new DCP for North Delhi while B S Jaiswal of the same batch has been promoted to the rank of DCP and posted in Outer Delhi.

IPS officer P Karunakaran will be the new Additional DCP-I in Outer Delhi. Vijay Singh, presently Additional DCP-I (South), has been transfered to Goa. Meghna Yadav, Surender Kumar, Aslam Khan, Romil Baaniya and Seju P Kuruvilla, all 2007-batch IPS officer, were promoted to Additional DCP-I rank.

They were posted in South-East, South, Central and New Delhi respectively. V A Gupta of 1986 DANIPS batch, has been posted as DCP (Land and Building) while Suvashish Choudhary of 1987 batch has been posted as DCP (Recruitment Cell). Parvez Ahmed has been posted as DCP/1st Battalion Armed Police while Amit Roy (DANIPS-95) has been posted as Additional DCP-II in Central.

Harender Kumar Singh, who is looking after the work of Additional DCP-II/Central, will look after the work of Addl DCP of Economic Offences Wing. Rajesh Deo, who is looking after the work of Addl DCP/EOW, will look after the work of Additional DCP-II, Outer Delhi.
