A 30-year-old Ugandan national has alleged that she was abducted, sexually assaulted and robbed by two men in southwest Delhi on Friday evening.

According to her complaint to the police, the incident took place in the Dwarka north area. The accused duo were arrested soon after.

Suman Goyal, deputy commissioner of police (southwest), refused to divulge details about their identities despite repeated attempts to contact her.

Police sources, however, said the incident took place when the complainant was on her way to her rented accommodation in Dabri on Friday evening.

“According to her complaint, she was walking down the road when two men in a car approached her and drew her into their vehicle and told her to keep quiet,” said a police officer, quoting the woman’s complaint.

The woman is understood to have told the police that she was headed home after meeting some acquaintances at the Janakpuri district centre.

“In her complaint, she alleged that the men then drove her to a flat where they took turns to rape her. They then dumped her nearby,” the officer said.

According to the woman, the men robbed her of her mobile phone and Rs 3,000 in cash.

The woman somehow reached the Dwarka North police station to report the incident.

“A police team accompanied her to a government hospital where she was medically examined. The test confirmed sexual assault. A case of gang rape was registered immediately and the section for robbery too was added to the FIR,” the officer said.
