A woman, who knew Sahil’s parents, alerted the school authorities on spotting the child with a stranger . The school’s principal dialled 100. A team of policemen soon arrived and arrested Mukesh on the spot.

During interrogation, Mukesh revealed that he had befriended Sahil a few days ago.

“This was not the first time that Mukesh was trying to lure the boy with chocolates. So when Mukesh approached Sahil outside the school on Tuesday, he easily recognised him and accepted the chocolates . But an alert woman, who knew the boy’s parents and was nearby at the time of the incident, quickly informed the school authorities,” said a senior police official. Sahil was later reunited with his parents, who live in Taimoor Nagar. Sahil’s father works in a clinic.

Mukesh came to Delhi from Nepal around three years ago. Police have registered a case under section 363 (kidnapping) of IPC at New Friends Colony police station. Further investigation is on.
