A 30-year-old woman from Nepal, who was suffering from tuberculosis, was found hanging from a tree near Aerocity (NH-8) metro station in IGI Airport area on Tuesday morning.

Police said she committed suicide because she was depressed due to her ill health for some days. Identified as Sangeeta, the woman was found hanging from a tree by a passerby, who in turn called the police control room.

"Sangeeta had hanged herself by using her chunni. She was missing from her rented accommodation in Mahipalpur since Sunday and her husband Dhan Bahadur, 50, had already lodged a missing person's complaint at Vasant Kunj north police station," said the police officer, adding Sangeeta was Bahadur's second wife.

Bahadur, the officer said, said his wife had tuberculosis for the past couple of months and was depressed due to her deteriorating health. Her husband worked as a private security guard.

"Sangeeta had detached herself from the outside world and had even stopped talking to her children. On Sunday, she disappeared from her house and did not return home," the officer added.
