There may be "differences" over the proposed National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) but "consensus" can be arrived at through consultations, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Monday.
"I know there may be differences on the NCTC, but I am hopeful that a consensus can be arrived through consultations," he told the Lok Sabha.
"I have promised chief ministers to consult them on internal security. A meeting will be held with them April 16," he said.
Many non-Congress ruled states in the country have opposed the NCTC alleging that in its present form it amounts to infringement of their powers.
