In the wake of allegations of irregularities in distribution of provisional regularisation certificates to certain unauthorised colonies, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday directed urban development department to look into the complaints.
“I have asked urban development minister Raj Kumar Chauhan to look into the allegations and file a report,” Dikshit said.
She was replying to questions related to complaints filed with the Delhi Lokayukta alleging that non-existent unauthorised colonies as well as colonies not having requisite qualification were issued provisional regularisation certificates.
Allegations were levelled that certain settlements on the Yamuna riverbed under the Noida toll bridge have been issued provisional regularisation certificates flouting norms.
Chauhan said an inquiry has been ordered into the allegations and anyone found guilty would be punished. While Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta demanded a CBI probe into the allegations.
