Till now, a DJB tanker could be hired for anything between Rs 400 and Rs 800. On Tuesday, the DJB, in its board meeting, decided to hike the price to a flat Rs 1,000.
The charges for one-time sewerage and water development for buildings with more than four floors on a plot of more than 250 square yards has also gone up from Rs 300 to Rs 329 per square yard, an official said.
It has also been decided to issue a consolidated bill for water and sewerage development charges on a plot with both lines. If sewerage development charges are not paid, the water connection can be disconnected after serving a notice. htc
