With the Capital in the throes of a major water crisis, the DJB seems to have turned a blind eye to its leaking pipelines.

There are some pipelines that have ben leaking for months. However, the one in west Delhi’s Patel Nagar has been leaking for over a decade. “Thousands of gallons of water is being wasted in our area every day as the main pipeline has been leaking for over 12 years. The DJB hasn’t bothered to repair it all these years,” said SB Singh, a resident of Patel Nagar.

Residents said they have highlighted the issue several times through the media but nothing has happened. “We have tried every possible way to highlight this issue, but nobody has bothered to take a note of it,” Singh added.
