As Anna Hazare's fast continued for the 11th day, doctors tonight said they were concerned about the Gandhian's health and advised him not to strain himself and take more rest. Hazare has lost seven kgs since August 16 when he sat on a hunger strike for a strong Lokpal Bill.
The 74-year-old Gandhian now weighs 65 kg. "There are concerns though his blood pressure and heart beat are okay. He has been asked to take more rest and not to strain himself," Dr Naresh Trehan, who is leading a team of doctors monitoring Hazare's health, told reporters.
If he takes more rest, he said, then he can continue to be stable. He said doctors were constantly monitoring Hazare's health. Doctors last night said the Gandhian's condition was "stable" but there is reason to worry.
