It was only on last Wednesday, that ENT specialists at AIIMS removed the tumour and relieved her of the excruciating pain and the social ‘alienation’.
“It was made of solid tissue. It was the largest pituitary gland tumour I ever came across in medical literature. The tumour weighing 1.8 kilograms was located on face and neck of the patient but it was not fatal. We conducted the cosmetic sugery to remove it from the face,” Dr K K Handa from the ENT department of AIIMS said. Lakhmani Devi, a resident of Dariyapur in Jharkhand, Lakhmani Devi is totally normal after the successfull surgery and all slated to get discharged in next few days.
