Does police have information of 'unknown' Barakhamba bomber?

delhi Updated: Sep 13, 2009 14:35 IST

Does Delhi Police have information about the profession or marital status of an "unknown" terrorist who planted bombs on Barakhamba Road a year ago?

The "unknown terrorist" is a 35-year-old wrestler and married, if one goes by the 'Zonal Integration Police Network' (ZIPNET), the official portal, which shares information on criminals on real time basis among, states.

But one wonders how police know minute details like age and profession of a man whom they say is an "unknown terrorist" and whose sketch was prepared only on the basis of witness accounts.

And if one has some information and calls Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat on his official mobile about the unknown terrorists as said in the website, the person will be rewarded with Rs Zero!

"These data are uploaded at various levels. There are some discrepancies. We will look into it," said a senior police official who refused to be named.

Similar is the description of another "unknown" terrorist who planted the bomb on the busy Barakhamba Road, one of the five targets of Indian Mujahideen terrorists. 26 people were killed and 126 injured in serial blasts last year.

Riyaz Bhatkal and Amir Raza Khan, the alleged key conspirators of the serial blasts, are also described as wrestlers in the ZIPNET.
