She made the mistake of giving a stolen high-end mobile phone to her juvenile neighbour, who began using it instead of selling it, which landed a domestic help in police’s net for her allegedly stealing jewellery and other costly articles from her employer’s house in south Delhi’s Saket.
The arrested domestic, Raziya Begam, 38, worked at the government-allotted flat of a metropolitan magistrate for the past three years.
Police recovered stolen gold and diamond jewellry worth around Rs.12 lakh, two mobile phones, including an Apple iPhone, from Begum. Kusum, receiver of the stolen property, was also arrested.
A senior police officer said Begum was arrested by a team led by Ritu Raj, station house officer of the Saket police station, following investigations.
