Two drivers of Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit's pilot vehicle, which is part of her convoy, were arrested for misbehaving with a 23-year-old woman near Pragati Maidan on Wednesday night.
Police said the drivers were off duty and were on their way to park the vehicle when the incident took place.
The arrested drivers have been identified as Rajesh Kumar (26) and Jagdish Vashisht (40). Both the government employees were suspended after the incident was reported.
The woman, in her complaint to the police, said the duo stopped their car near a temple where she had gone to drop her friend around 10pm on Wednesday.
They reportedly continuously blinked the car's headlights that were pointed at her. She said they also passed lewd comments and made indecent gestures.
But when she protested — her brother also shot a video of her arguing with the two accused — the two men tried to flee. She immediately stepped in front of the car and called the PCR for help.
"We have booked them under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman)," said KC Dwivedi, additional commissioner of police (New Delhi).
A case has been registered at Tilak Marg police station.
The woman also alleged that the two accused men were drinking beer that night though the police have denied this allegation. Both the accused men managed to get bail later.
