In another case of drink driving, four people were injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Saket in South Delhi on Tuesday.

Around two am, a Honda Civic car collided with a Maruti 800 car, which was coming from the opposite direction. The police said that engaged couple Harsh Sharma (27) and Neha Bhasin (24) who were in their Honda Civic car were allegedly under the influence of liquor.

A medical exam comfirmed this, said police.

“The driver of the Civic was under the influence of alcohol and it collided with the Maruti car, which was coming from Badarpur side on Mandir Marg in Saket”, said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak with media.

Azam Zaidi (48) and Shahid Zaidi (42), who were in theMaruti 800, were injured.

A passersby informed the police who rushed them all to hospital. Police said that Neha and Harsh were admitted to Max Hospital whereas Azam and Shahid are recuperating at Batra Hospital.

The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and have also impounded the vehicle of the accused.
