A man, sentenced to 20 days in jail for driving in an inebriated state, has been directed by a Delhi court to assist the police in managing traffic at a busy signal and do community service at a temple for 10 days.

Additional Sessions Judge S C Rajan waived 46-year-old Delhi resident Dharmvir’s jail term and asked him to assist the traffic police from 10 am to 5 pm for 10 days.

The court also asked him to perform community service at Jhandewalan temple everyday from 6.30am to 10am, and then from 4 pm to 10pm for 10 days after assisting the traffic police.

Dharamvir was caught driving drunk near PVR Naraina on October 25.
