In two separate incidents of drunken driving, an allegedly drunk woman hit a police control room van around 10:30pm in Rohini on Monday night.

In the other incident, lawmakers had turned lawbreakers. Four policemen were found allegedly drunk while on duty. They were reportedly in a Maruti Baleno car, which they hit on a divider in Keshavpuram area in Northwest Delhi, also on Monday night.

Police said a 26-year-old woman, who was allegedly drunk, lost control of her Santro car and hit a PCR van parked in Rohini on Monday night.

The police said the woman, identified only as Sonia, tried to escape after hitting the PCR van in Sector-11. The police gave her a chase and then managed to nab her later.

The police said the woman was taken for a medical examination, which proved that she was drunk. However, as no one was injured, the police slapped her a fine for drunk driving and impounded her vehicle.

In the other case, the police claimed that it couldn't be established that the men in khaki were drunk. The incident was reported around 11pm.

But residents claimed the policemen on duty were drinking in the car. "After drinking, they tried to leave the spot but they were highly intoxicated and first hit the divider and then a wall besides the footpath. We ran towards the car and found that they were policemen in uniform. Bottles and glasses were strewn inside the vehicle," said Amit Sharma, a local resident.

The police were called in who said only a sub-inspector was in the vehicle and his medical examination couldn't ascertain whether he was drunk.
