A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) driver accidentally opened fire at north Delhi's Indraprastha bus depot on Thursday afternoon apparently while showing off his newly-purchased firearm. No one was injured in the incident.

The accused driver, later identified as 50-year-old Sunil, fled from the spot immediately with the police still on the lookout for him.

"At the moment, we only have his first name and are trying to get other personal details such as his address so that he can be apprehended under a case of the Arms Act," said an officer.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 12:10pm. The police team later rushed to the spot only to be told that it was an accident.
