To ensure that people travelling by public transport to various venues during the Commonwealth Games have information about buses and their routes, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is constructing 780 special bus queue shelters with information kiosks near various games venues.

While the bus queue shelters will have usual facilities like convenient steel furniture and glow-sign display boards, the kiosks will have a DTC official to provide information on buses as well as to issue bus tickets.

The DTC employee will also give information on frequency of buses and expected time of arrival of buses.

The specially built kiosks will also have a digital watch and a temperature machine and advertising panel on both its sides. The kiosks will also have the logo of the Commonwealth Games.

While the construction of 180 Bus Q shelters, which are being constructed by the DTC itself, has already started, construction of 400 Q-shelters, being constructed by Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System, is expected to start in May.

“The design of the information kiosk is being finalised. The bus queue shelters are being constructed in a way that the kiosks can easily be added later,” Delhi transport minister Arvinder Singh said.
