The Delhi Technological University (DTU), will commence its admission procedure for its various undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the 2010 academic session from May 26.
The sale of prospectus and application form for BTech courses will begin from Wednesday, whereas for MTech programmes it will commence from June 1 and that of PhD programmes from June 10.
There are 14 BTech programmes on offer this year with a total intake of 910 out of which 85 per cent seats will be reserved for students of Delhi while 15 per cent for those outside Delhi.
The admissions will be based on the rank obtained in the AIEEE-2010 examination. Those who have passed Class XII or BSc (General) or BSc (H) examination with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths are eligible to apply for BTech programmes. A candidate must have also passed English as a subject of study in the Senior School Certificate Examination Level.
The MTech programmes will be available in 17 disciplines with 306 seats for the full-time courses and 45 seats offered on the part-time basis. Besides having secured minimum 60 per cent marks in the prescribed qualifying examination, a candidate needs to have a valid GATE score to secure admission in a full-time MTech programme. Those applying for the part-time course, need not have GATE score but must be employed with minimum of one-year experience at the time of admission.
For admission to PhD courses, a ME/MTech degree in the appropriate branch with minimum 60 per cent marks is required. For courses in Applied Sciences, a MSc with minimum 60 per cent marks is needed. Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of personal interview conducted by the University Research Council.
