The Delhi University (DU) administration on Wednesday decided to take all possible measures to provide adequate security measures for its women students.

In a meeting chaired by vice-chancellor Dinesh Singh, the administration, including principals of women's colleges and police officials of north Delhi, met to discuss possible steps that can be taken in future to safeguard the university campus.

"Among other issues such as additional booth, increased video surveillance, police picket and tackling vulnerable sports, several other measures were also discussed to create a practical action plan for making the district safe," said a senior DU official.

NSS and NCC students will carry out a detailed study of the campus and its neighbouring areas in collaboration with faculty members and senior police officials.

"The university will spare no effort to promote security and safety of women on campus," said Dinesh Singh.
