The Delhi University administration may have directed its students not to play Holi outside their hostel campuses, but the women hostellers have also demanded a ban on the rally that the men hostel inmates take out every year.
The women hostellers have written to the university's proctor office, as well as to the ACP north district and the assistant SHO, Maurice Nagar, requesting them to ban the rally.
"The women are disgusted by the offensive rally taken out by postgraduate men hostellers (belonging to Mansarovar, PG Men's, Gwyer and Jubilee Hall hostels), on Holi each year. Drunk and desirous of creating a ruckus, some students from these hostels have made a tradition to take out a rowdy Holi procession," said a statement issued by women hostellers.
