NEW DELHI: Over a month after the mysterious death of journalist Pooja Tiwari, the police are now preparing to conduct a dummy body test.
The test will be done to verify claims that either Pooja jumped from a building to commit suicide or somebody pushed her down.
Tiwari, a young journalist, allegedly jumped from her fifth floor apartment on the intervening night of May 1 and 2.
Senior police officers say the test will help them establish sequence of events in the sensational case.
“I talked to the director of the forensic department and he assured me they will soon conduct a dummy body test,” said Hanif Qureshi, Faridabad police commissioner.
Forensic test has proved the suicide note found from the crime scene was indeed written by Pooja. “Yes, it has been confirmed but we are still investigating it,” said Qureshi. “We will question all the persons named in the suicide note,” he said.
The Haryana government had recently ordered constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate Pooja’s death.
The parents of the journalist believe their daughter was murdered and they wanted the SIT to expose the people responsible for her death. Pooja’s family also demanded a CBI probe.
Police registered a case of abetment to suicide against alleged quack doctors Anil Goel and his wife Archana Goel.
