In Dwarka, burglars struck again on Thursday and escaped with cash and valuables worth Rs 10 lakh. The six targeted apartments are in the same complex—four of them on the same floor. All this within a span of just three hours.
The incident occurred at Dwarka’s Atulya Apartments in sector 18 B on Thursday. The six targeted apartments are located in A block.
“Apartments 127, 329, 413, 414, 419 and 443 in block A of the three-block complex were forced into. However, only 329, 411 and 443 have been burgled,” said a senor police officer.
Police said the modus operandi was similar to the one used in Humsub Apartments where four flats were burgled on February 24.
“Homes whose residents were away were targeted. We believe the exercise took place between 10:30 am and 1 pm,” said the officer.
The first home to have reportedly been broken into was Bimlesh Verma’s (28) on the fourth floor. “They took all my gold jewellery, but left behind all the silver and electronic equipment,” said Verma, a web designer in a Gurgaon firm. She said cash and valuables worth Rs 7 lakh were missing.
“Only after my father contacted senior police officers did they register the case,” said Mala Saini (28), a fashion designer, whose third floor apartment was burgled next.
“They were choosy about what they took. Cash worth Rs 62,000 and valuables are missing,” she said.
“We have registered FIRs in cases in which cash and valuables are missing,” added the senior officer.
