The mysterious death of a 14-year-old student has taken an interesting turn after the police found blood stains near lifts on the fourth, fifth and seventh floors of the building from which the boy reportedly fell on Thursday.
While police claimed Vaibhav Kumar jumped to his death, the Class 9 student's family alleged it was a cold-blooded murder. They blamed an 18-year-old boy of the same building with whom Kumar had a fight earlier.
Police said Kumar jumped from the eighth floor of Skylark Apartments in Dwarka Sector 6 around 10 pm on Wednesday.
"Police have found blood stains at a house on the seventh floor of our eight-storey building, and the boy stays in that house. We strongly believe that my son was murdered," said Dr Vijender Kumar, the boy's father.
The crime team and Rohini forensic science laboratory team have examined the house where blood stains were found. "They have enough evidence to register a case of murder but it is shocking that they haven't done it so far," he added.
The boy's father claimed that there were injury marks on Vaibhav's right thigh and back, and marks of being dragged on his left leg. Footage from a CCTV camera installed in the building shows Vaibhav Kumar falling from the building around 10 pm.
The victim's family said that Kumar was seen entering the society at 6.50 pm but no one knows where he was after that. His body was found at 10 pm and family members suspect that someone killed him during that time and threw his body.
