Emergency landing for jet carrying BJP brass
A private jet carrying senior BJP leaders, including party president Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, had a close shave at Delhi airport on Monday after the aircraft had to make an emergency landing following a technical glitch.
A private jet carrying senior BJP leaders, including party president Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, had a close shave at Delhi airport on Monday after the aircraft had to make an emergency landing following a technical glitch.
The BJP leaders were flying to Bangalore to address an election rally and the aircraft took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9.20am. Within a few minutes of take off, the pilot detected a glitch in the auto-pilot system of the Challenger aircraft and decided to land back at IGI.
The aircraft landed safely at 10.40am. The other passengers on board included BJP general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan and joint general secretary (organisation) V Satish, SP Dwivedi, Anand Kumar and Vandana Sharma, apart from three crew members.
