An escort vehicle of Delhi Lt Governor caught fire today in the national capital but no one was injured.
The incident took place near Sabzi Mandi when Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna was returning to his official residence Raj Niwas from Vasant Vihar, a senior police official said.
He was escorted by two Ambassador cars and when they reached Sabzi Mandi traffic signal, the second escort car caught fire.
Driver Vinod and three others inside the car came out of the car after detecting smoke from the engine.
"Soon the engine caught fire and they tried to douse the fire using the fire extinguisher in the car. Fire tenders also reached the spot," the official said.
No one was injured in the incident.
