delhi Updated: Dec 14, 2007 02:53 IST

The murder of a walled city builder last September has taken a sensational turn with the former Deputy Chairman of MCD Standing Committee, Ashok Jain being named as one of the conspirators. His alleged involvement came to light when police in a remand application in a city court name him as one of the conspirators.

Vijay Yadav (32), a builder, died in a hail of bullets in Hauz Qazi on September 29. Vijay’s elder brother Abhay, a secretary in the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), alleged that Ashok Jain was behind the crime.

“Ashok Jain along with two other accomplices Gopal Krishna Agarwal and Rishipal hatched a conspiracy to kill my brother. They had sent contract killers to gun him down,” said Abhay Yadav, the brother of the deceased.

The police had moved an application in a city court few days ago seeking the remand of a small time Congress worker Gopal Krishan Agarwal and a builder Rishipal alias Pappu Pehelwan for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to kill Vijay Yadav. In the remand application, the police have also named Ashok Jain as one of the conspirators behind the crime.

The conspiracy came to light when a gangster Dimple Tyagi was killed in an encounter few days ago. The police arrested his two friends Bhisham and Vijay Gola who disclosed that the three men Gopal Krihan Agarwal, Rishipal and Ashok Jain were behind the murder. Jain has got admitted in a Daryaganj hospital since then.

“My brother was killed due to political rivalry. He also had a property dispute with Ashok Jain. We had a dispute with the three men over property worth Rs 20 crore,” added Yadav, the brother of the deceased.

Vijay Yadav was gunned down by five men in Bazaar Sita Ram on September 29.
