Delhiites had a scorching beginning to the week on Monday as the mercury touched a high of 38.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal for this time of the year.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.1 degrees, three degrees above normal.
The temperature may go down slightly from Wednesday.
"Strong winds, thunder and dust storms may bring down the temperature by a notch or two. Thursday may also see isolated rainfall in some parts," said a senior MeT official.
