Till his Class 10, Ankit Saini studied in a small school in his village of Shahbad Mohammadpur near Dwarka.
But the commerce student from Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidhyalaya, Dwarka, made history by topping the exam in all government schools in Delhi.
He scored an impressive 97.6 percent. He scored full marks in economics and an impressive 95 in English despite studying in a Hindi medium school till class 10.
“Isne toh puri dilli mein hamare naam roshan kiya hai (He has made us very proud). I am not educated; I don’t know how to read or write but my son has done wonders,” said Ankit’s mother Mamta.
Ankit wants to pursue commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce and dreams of becoming the managing director of a company some day.
“I’d like to get into the banking sector,” said the enthusiastic youngster. Money has been a problem since his family has no fixed income. His father has been paralyzed for the last six years and his mother does odd jobs around his village. But he knows and believes that education can change his life.
