Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has sought six more months from the Supreme Court to surrender so he can wrap up his film projects.

The actor, convicted for illegally possessing firearms during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, is supposed to turn himself in on April 18 and serve three-and-half years in jail.

In an application moved on Monday, Dutt said he wanted to complete shooting seven movies worth Rs. 278 crore, including big-budget projects such as filmmaker Raju Hirani's PK and Karan Johar's Unglee.

His plea would be heard on Tuesday.

The court had on March 21 pronounced Dutt guilty under the Arms Act and reduced his sentence from six to five years.

The actor has already spent 18 months in jail.

On Monday, Dutt also said he has not accepted any new films since the apex court's verdict. The 53-year-old actor is likely to move a review plea against the March 21 judgment.
