Fire breaks out in scrap dump at Delhi slum, no casualties reported

A fire broke out in a scrap dump at a slum cluster in west Delhi on Saturday, a fire official said. It took one-and-a-half hours to douse it and there were no casualties.

The fire occurred around 10:00 am in Dwarka sector 3 in west Delhi.

“At least 20 fire tenders were rushed to the site and it took about one-and-a-half hours to douse the flames,” the official said.

The reason behind the fire could not be immediately ascertained, the official added.
