The fire at The Times of India building at central Delhi’s Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, which started on Sunday afternoon, has continued to rage even after over 20 hours. Fresh smoke was seen billowing out of the building on Monday.
The fire control room said that around 30 fire tenders along with hydraulic ladders and gas cutters have been stationed at the spot.
“The building is dark, filled with smoke and fire is breaking out from different cabins inside. If we douse fire on one side, it breaks out in another corner,” said Atul Garg, chief fire officer.
The fire started on Sunday around 4:45 pm in the server room on the first floor following which the building was evacuated.
In May last year, a fire had broken out in the fourth floor of the building.
