The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials were on their toes throughout the day with fire incidents being reported from two warehouses located in different parts of the city on Monday morning.

The first incident was reported at 6 am from a ground-floor dried fruits warehouse located in east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area. Twenty fire tenders were rushed to the spot. “The warehouse, which occupies a large area, was stocked with almonds and other dried fruits which made it difficult at first to control the blaze. It took is more than three hours to control the fire,” said a DFS official.

The second blaze was reported from a cloth warehouse in south Delhi’s East of Kailash area around 11:40. “Located in the Prakash Mohalla area in the b block, the incident was reported from a warehouse located in the basement of at a residential area with narrow lanes,” the DFS official said.

DFS officials were able to douse the blaze in about an hour. No casualties were reported during either incident. A short circuit is suspected to have been the reason both incidents.
