The organisers of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) are counting on the appetite of Delhiites to draw large crowds.
The organisers expect food counters to be the major attraction of the 14-day long fair, one of the biggest events on Delhi’s calendar. “Special cuisines from 22 states and other countries will be available. This is the first time we’ll have such a large variety of food that would also include branded food. Till last year, we only had cuisines from 13 to 14 states,” said Rajeev Kher Chairperson, ITPO.
Every year, food counter of, among others, are a big hit with the visitors. “We are also checking that there is no overpricing. All the 92 food counters have been awarded to individual contractors so there’s no monopoly,” added Kher.
A series of cultural programmes have been planned which will showcase the tradition of. Outlets of various international and local apparel and utility brands also draw huge crowd every year.
And it’s not only for foodies and shoppers, but the trade fair will also have something for everyone. “Many reputed educational institutions such as IIT, AIIMS, and Law University will also set up counters for the students,” said a senior ITPO officer.
For the convenience of visitors, many ATMs will also be available within the venue. “Information booths have also been installed at vantage points to provide fair related information,” the officer added.
