Four friends died under mysterious circumstances and two others were found injured on railway tracks in Outer Delhi.

The incident was reported on Friday night when a man crossing the area noticed six youths lying on railway tracks in the Mangolpuri area.

The police said though there were injury marks on the bodies of the victims, they all had died after a train hit them. However, their families claimed they were murdered following an altercation with a man.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 12 a.m. The victims were identified as Sunny (17), Manoj (20), Sanjeev (21) and Sandeep (18).

Two others, Rohit (20) and Sagar (22), were seriously injured in the incident and are at ICU of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. The police said the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.

According to the police, a man named Farukh had taken them along to settle a score with a man named Om Prakash.

"Farukh took the victims to an area near railway tracks where they into a fight with Om Prakash. Initial investigations reveal they might have died after being hit by a train but it is still unclear it they were pushed or not," said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity.

The police said the victims had injury marks on head and chest. The police said the teams have been set up to find Farukh. However, the family members of the victims claim they were murdered. "Farukh took my brother to settle a score and this resulted in their deaths," said Amit, Sunny's brother.
