Four-year-old dies in house collapse

A four-year-old boy was killed and his sister was seriously injured when the roof of their house collapsed at Ballimaran in the Walled City on Wednesday afternoon. The police said, the recent rains led to the collapse.

The building is 100 years old.

The police said that the children were alone at home when the incident happened. Mohammed Musab succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The roof of the three-storey house collapsed and the victim stayed on the ground floor.

The building is old and the rains had worsened the condition. The roof of the building where the children were playing collapsed. Fiza (6), the sister of the deceased, is critical and in the ICU of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital," said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity.

Their father Mohammed Siddique is a businessman. Two fire tenders were sent to the spot. Firemen who took the two children out from the debris in around an hour.

No case has been registered so far, the police said.
