The Special Operations Squad of the Crime Branch apprehended seven members of the Gulzar Bhura gang on Friday.

Those held were gang-leader Gulzar Bhura (27), Bhura (25), Mohd. Aarif (28), Rashid Hussain (22), Mohd. Sajid (22), Modh. Ali (36), Mohd. Kamil Siddiqui (22) and two receivers of the gang's stolen goods — Pradeep Gupta (32) and Mukesh Gupta (35).

They were held from a park near Mehrauli-Badarpur road.

The gang was notorious for stealing trucks by first overtaking them on the road and then making away with the vehicle after killing the driver.

They were held minutes before they could attempt a planned truck dacoity at the Container Depot in Okhla.
