Delhi police have arrested a 24-year-old man who would don army fatigues and lure army personnel arriving at railway stations to the red light district on GB road. After sending them to brothels, he would flee with their luggage and other belongings.

“Vipin Kumar Godwal, a resident of Saharanpur, was arrested from Nizamuddin railway station on Wednesday. He would target army personnel arriving at railway stations,” a senior police officer said.

A 23-year-old army staffer, who Godwal was trying to cheat, caught him red-handed. “He met Godwal at Nizamuddin railway station. Kumar introduced himself as an army staffer and asked him to go to GB Road with him,” the officer added. They deposited the luggage at the station’s cloak room and started off.

Godwal convinced Singh that he should go there alone and asked him for his wallet.

He was caught when he tried giving Singh tea laced with sedatives.
