A 30-year-old cab driver who worked with a call-center was allegedly murdered by a group of men inside the premises of MMG government hospital in Ghaziabad on late Friday night. Following the incident, the victim family also lodged a named FIR against a person and several of his accomplices.
According to police, victim Madan Som, who hailed from Sardhana in Meerut, was invited to a birthday party that was hosted by Mohan Lal -- a staff member -- on Friday night. The host had also invited another person Lokesh Tyagi who is a driver of a private ambulance.
“It is alleged that Tyagi and the victim had some altercation over some issue during which the victim’s throat was slashed. He was admitted to the hospital but could not survive,” a police spokesperson said.
The incident took place around 10pm on Friday night, after which the victim’s brother lodged an FIR for murder where he has levied allegations over Tyagi and several of his accomplices.
“We have lodged an FIR for murder where Tyagi and several of his accomplices are named and stated to have slashed the throat of the victim with some sharp-edged weapon. We have also questioned the host of the party about the entire incident. The case will be cracked soon,” the spokesperson added.
