A 17-year-old girl was waylaid, abducted and raped by two men a moving car in northwest Delhi's Kanjhawala area on Tuesday night, police said.

Police said the accused have been identified as Amit Gupta and Manoj, both residents of Mangolpuri. They were known to the victim, who works as a domestic help, police said.

“The incident took place around 7pm when the victim was on her way back home. The duo stopped their car close to her and pulled her inside,” said a senior police officer, adding that the duo has been arrested.

Then, the two took turns to rape her in their moving car, police said.

After five hours around midnight, Gupta and Manoj pushed her out of the vehicle in a forest area in Kanjhawala and fled. “We got to know about the incident only after the victim reached her residence,” the officer said.

She narrated the incident to her parents. Her parents lodged a police complaint and the victim was taken to a hospital for medical test. The medical examination confirmed sexual assault, after which the police registered a criminal case against the accused. The accused were later arrested.

"They drove her around to areas such as Narela and Mongolpuri, while they took turns to rape her. They were arrested soon," the officer said, adding that Manoj works as an autorickshaw driver, while Gupta operates a small car rental business in Mongolpuri.
