An aspirant seeking admission to Delhi University’s Kalindi College jumped from the first floor of the college building on Tuesday.
According to the college principal, the girl had come for admission under the extracurricular quota. She was accompanied by her father.
“She had come for admission under the ECA quota but since her certificates were not complete, we asked her to write an application. She wrote the application and then submitted to the principal. But later she came to me and asked me for the application and when I denied it she went away. In another minute I heard a scream and was told she jumped from the floor,” said a teacher in charge of the ECA admission.
The details about the girl and her condition are yet to be ascertained, but the college authorities said that she was immediately sent to the nearby hospital.
“We sent her to the emergency of Lady Hardinge hospital as that it the nearest to our college and even informed the university,” said Anula Maurya, principal of Kalindi College.
