‘Give copy of chargesheet to accused’

delhi Updated: Nov 09, 2010 00:08 IST

A Delhi court, on Monday, ordered that Jagtar Singh Hawara — the chief of the terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) — be provided copies of the chargesheets filed against him in cases relating to the twin blasts in Satyam and Liberty cinema halls in Delhi in 2005.

Chief metropolitan magistrate Vinod Yadav asked the Delhi police to give the accused, who is facing a life term in the assassination case of Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, the documents as he could not come to stand trial in the Capital due to his pending cases in Punjab.

The court fixed November 22 as date for scrutiny of documents. Hawara was brought to Delhi from a jail in Chandigarh on October 25.
