In a bid to promote paperless applications and make the admission process simpler for students, Delhi University has decided to give a boost to online applications.
The university has priced the online form at Rs. 50 while the proce for paper form has been set at Rs. 100.
For reserved categories (Scheduled Caste/Tribe and Persons with disability) the online form is free of cost while the over the counter form will be for Rs. 50.
The admission process at the university begins on June 5 and the online forms will be available on www.du.ac.in.
This time around, admissions under the reserved categories (Scheduled Caste/Tribe and Persons with disability) will also be carried out by colleges. This was earlier done centrally.
All students will have the option of filling out the forms online. This time there will be more information required to be filled by students. Information about family income, mobile number, the kind of schooling and area of the school will also have to be filled in the OMR form.
"Students can also opt to get an email as well as SMS confirmation of registration once their forms have been submitted," said JM Khurana, dean, students' welfare.
