Social activist Anna Hazare on Friday carried out his threat against the Congress for the Hisar (Haryana) Lok Sabha byelection to be held on October 13, with the release of a CD containing an appeal to vote against the party.

“We have appealed to people for this poll. The Congress should be defeated as it has failed to bring the Jan lokpal Bill,” Hazare said in the 10-minute CD titled — The Government of the Corrupt.

Hazare will, however, not be travelling to Hisar and his colleagues Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Kiran Bedi will carry his message for the voters.

The veteran activist had on Tuesday made his first political announcement in his village Ralegan Siddhi of opposing the Congress in Hisar, and in the five states where assembly elections will be held next year, in case the lokpal bill is not passed during the winter session of Parliament.

According to the schedule provided by Hazare-led India Against Corruption, his team will be in Hisar between Saturday and Monday. They are expected to address corner meetings and interact with the students and youth.
